Better stats for your STARKADE fighters

Sometimes, you find yourself up late at night tormented by questions.

Questions like:

“Why are we here?”

“Do crows know something they’re not telling us?”

And “Is Neon Reaper a more popular Megastar than The Rider?”

Well, we can’t help you with the first two (although we do share your suspicions about the crows), but the last one?

That’s just one of the bits of insight we’ve added in our latest updates to our STARKADE fighter and Megastar pages.

What are the others? Read on and find out.

We’ve got some big releases in the pipeline for the STARKADE universe, from the introduction of Crates, Power-ups and Items to the release of Legion Arena.

But we’re also constantly tweaking things behind the scenes to give you more information and a better user experience.

In early July, we released STARKADE Training Ground, which gave you a chance to boost your fighter’s skills with Taunts, Fighting Styles and Combos.

Training will give your fighters that extra edge in Legion Arena, and we figure that it should also make a fighter more valuable to potential buyers.

That’s why our latest update to our fighter pages contains essential information about which Megastars a fighter has trained with, and what they’ve earned.

Fighter updates

If you look at a fighter’s profile from starkade.com/fighters, you’ll now see:

  • Information about whether a fighter is equipped, and (if not) which equipment is available to them
  • Whether a fighter is plugged in and currently training in Training Ground
  • A record of which Megastars the fighter has trained with (if any), and any Taunts, Fighting Styles and Combos they’ve claimed or unlocked.

We have also pushed an update to our metadata contracts (for both Legion and Lost fighters), so if you’re searching for a new recruit on OpenSea, you can get a summary of how many Taunts, Fighting Styles and Combos each fighter has earned by checking the LEVELS dropdown.

You may want to double-check progress by refreshing the metadata (top right) on Opensea.

General updates

Since introducing Training Ground, we’ve pushed a number of updates to improve the overall experience and usability.

We’ve implemented a number of suggestions made by our community — such as being able to claim your credits and switch to train with a new Megastar using a more obvious button, rather than clicking through an expanded set of options.

We’ve improved visual feedback on the partial, or completed progress of a fighter with a megastar — and removed the ability to be able to sign up to the same Megastar more than once.

We’ve added helpful prompts and headings based on community questions and feedback.

And we continue to work on some exciting new additions behind the scenes.

Megastar updates

It’s a whole new ballgame over on STARKADE’s Megastar pages.

The introduction of Training Ground means there’s A LOT more info out there surrounding Megastars, such as “who’s doing the most training?” and “how many credits are Megastars earning each month?”.

We had a few internal discussions about how much of that to release, and decided to go with “pretty much all of it”.

So your new, updated Megastar pages now have a whole load of stats on them that will be auto-updating regularly.

Let’s take a look at the current reigning #1: Tyger Ali, to see what’s new…

As well as the existing detail, such as character bio, NFT art, traits, rarity and location, we’ve added:

  • The approximate time it takes to train with this Megastar from start to finish
  • A run-down of the Taunt, Fighting Style and Combo you can learn from the Megastar in Training Ground
  • A weekly ranking showing how popular the character is compared to other Megastars
  • Plus their all-time ranking since the start of Training Ground
  • The monthly wage the Megastar earns for the owner of their NFT
  • The popularity bonuses, which are earned when a fighter trains with the Megastar, or earns a Taunt, Fighting Style and Combo
  • The current credit balance attached to the Megastar NFT, and when credits were last claimed
  • The all-time earnings of a Megastar NFT

This information should give you a much better idea of how many credits you can earn if you own a Megastar, which is important if you’re negotiating to either buy or sell one.

If you want to know even more about the Megastars — including where they came from and what drives them — you can dig into our Meet The Megastars series, published right here on Medium.

And if you’re the owner of a Megastar that wants to boost their profile (or you’re just a big fan that wants to give a shout-out to your favourite), you can download Megastar social media images from starkade.com/downloads and spread the word to all your followers.

We’ll be back shortly with more updates to the STARKADE universe.
But until then…STAY RAD.
