Introducing…Training Ground.

Fighters fight, but winners train. We’re introducing a way to boost your fighter and earn credits, by learning from STARKADE Megastars. Who will you choose?

Every great fighter trains.

Yes, I know that sometimes it feels like champions are just Creatures of Legend, who were born into greatness and swan into battle with an air of invincibility.

But once — back in the mists of time — they were probably stumbling, pratfalling rookies, with nothing but a dream. And a mentor that believed in them.

*Orchestral rousing violins emerge from behind the sofa*

Even in the STARKADE universe, training is the difference between triumphant all-night victory parties and a microwave ready meal of humble pie for one.

Which brings us to…Training Ground: Opening in Late June ‘22.

An overview

Sometimes you need an edge. A skill. A move that will dispatch your tricky and irritating opponent and give them a sad faceful of dirt.

Which is why you need Training Ground.

When you connect your wallet at starkade.com, you can choose to put any of your non-Megastar fighters into training.

On entering Training Ground, you will choose which STARKADE Megastar you’d like to be trained by.

That’s right. You get to be trained by people who can bend lightning to their will. People whose every move is met by awed gasps across the STARKADE universe. People with huge power, and awesome fashion sense.

Over time, each Megastar will teach your fighter:

  • A unique Taunt to use in battle.
A fun visual way for you to intimidate or distract your opponent in Legion Arena.
  • A unique Style of fighting.
Whether it be the Maelstrom style of the Calamities or the Wail and Impale style of Spikester, you can be sure to further your fighters skills and dazzle your opponent in Legion Arena.
  • A unique Combo to megacharge you in battle.
When choosing to fight in your learned style, you’ll then gain the ability to use a unique combo in Legion Arena. This may turn out to be the ultimate upper hand in a tight spot.

What your fighter learns depends on the Megastar you select, and the amount of time you’re willing to stay in training.

Choose wisely, as some Megastars will teach you quicker than others. But often, the rewards are worth it.

You, the Recruiter, will also receive credits in return for putting your fighter in training. But make sure to check in on them from time to time. Everyone has good and bad days, y’know, and they may win or lose a few credits based on their daily performance.

So what’s in it for the Megastars?

If you’re the proud owner of a STARKADE Megastar NFT, you’re probably thinking:

“Oi*, what do I get out of all this? After all, my Megastar is a butt-kicking legend, and is doing all the training.”

(* “Oi” may vary, due to whether you’re a 19th century British chimney sweep or not).

So here we go:

The Megastars have each created a pretty awesome training programme for fighters, for which they get rewarded.

All holders of Ultra-Rare Megastars (1/1s) will receive a monthly income of credits (paid on the 1st of the month). PLUS they will receive bonus credits for each Taunt, Style and Combo they teach (claimable each week).

So essentially it’s going to be like running your own little Training business in a colourful fantasy universe, without any of the daily struggles that come with landlords, sweatiness, and faulty plumbing.

And — yes — when we say Ultra-Rare Megastars, we do include the Calamities. If you own a Calamity, you’ll get credits too, but it’ll be a smaller amount than the 1/1 Megastars (as you’ll be sharing with the other Calamities).

The exact amount of credits earned will be shared closer to the launch of Training Ground.

The web3 bit:

So does Training Ground involve staking my NFT?

In short, yes. When you place a fighter into Training Ground at starkade.com, you will be asked to sign a message via your connected wallet. This will ask your permission to move your fighter NFT over to our Training Ground contract where it is securely held, until you decide to take it back out of training.

Only you have the right to remove it again — using the wallet address that entered the fighter. And you’re referred to as the real ‘owner’ of the staked asset in our contract.

When a fighter is held by our Training ground contract, it will no longer show up in your own crypto wallet (as it will be held against our contract). You will be able to see it, when connecting to starkade.com however — where you can check which fighters you have currently in training. You are also still able to battle with them in Legion Arena.

So if earning credits passively AND actively is your bag… well, this may be the place for you.

Why staking?

There are a number of reasons why we’d like to offer a staking mechanism to holders of STARKADE fighters, which we hope you’ll agree are pretty awesome:

  1. Placing a fighter in training with a Megastar unlocks a unique Taunt, fighting Style, and Combo. Each of these unlock a unique option for you to play within Legion Arena.
  2. Training your fighter improves your NFT. If you allow your fighter to train long enough to achieve a fighting Style and Combo, a count of these will be added to your fighter NFT. The more Megastars you train with, the higher your counts will become — so potentially, you may well build extra worth into your own NFT asset.
  3. Training a fighter passively earns you credits. It’s also great if you happen to own a 1/1 Megastar.

So… who will you choose to train with first? And will you choose to share your strategy with your fellow Recruiters?

Let the scheming begin.

We’ll see you in Training.
