We’ve been busy-busy building our next awesome drop — and it’s nearly time for STARKADE CRATES.
Whilst James continues completing super rad artwork, our internal dev team and publishing partner ponderware are wrapping up the final testing of smart contracts. And wow, are we excited.
Ooof. Look at those fancy boxes…
We’re planning to launch STARKADE Crates in July ’22. The idea is that you’ll be able to head to starkade.com, and get your hands on a crate containing one, two, or three unknown NFTs.
You’ll be able to purchase these crates in exchange for ETH. And if you’re lucky enough to hold an Ultra-Rare Megastar — you’ll be airdropped a Large crate free of charge.
Once the transaction is complete, the crate will reveal its contents. Will it be a Power-Up or Item to take to battle in Legion Arena? Or maybe it’ll be something even more rare to show off to your fellow Recruiters?
Wait…more ETH spend??
Don’t worry if you’d rather not spend additional ETH. We get it. Really. You’ve already invested in buying a fighter, and for that we’re truly grateful (as we now get to build a whole world for you).
It has always been our goal to make your initial investment go as FAR as possible. We’re so grateful for the people who have invested their time and money into buying multiple fighters, creating websites and fan art, and building excitement and friendships on our Discord.
But we want everyone to feel part of our STARKADE community. Which means that it should also be FUN for people with just a single fighter — playing and engaging to earn, rather than spending more.
You can play and win in the Legion Arena with just your equipped fighter. But a few extra bits and bobs can make the experience more exciting and unpredictable.
With this in mind, we will always have crates to give away to the community (via Discord). And there will also be Power-Ups and Items available to RENT within Legion Arena when it launches, in exchange for STARKADE Credits.
So whether you’re buying, winning or renting, you’ll have the chance to get yourself some cool stuff 👀.
UPDATE (Friday 10th June):
Following a few community questions, we just wanted to add a note to clarify whether you’ll be able to exchange our STARKADE Credits for crates:
Basically, when the Legion Arena fully launches, you’ll be able to RENT power-ups and items in exchange for STARKADE Credits, meaning that you’ll be able to take a little extra oomph into the Arena without spending ETH.
In these cases, you’ll be renting the Power-ups and Items, rather than unlocking them as mystery items within crates.
On the subject of the crates themselves, we’re confirming today that we WILL be making some crates available to exchange for STARKADE Credits at various points this year.
We can’t share any exact details at this point about when we’re doing this, or how many credits it will cost, but it’s something we’ll definitely be offering to Starkadians in the coming months.
